Three editions at launch. Prices are the US Steam storefront values; contents are from the official PlayStation page. The short version: the Year 1 Pass arrives one tier earlier than most people expect.

No, it is not free to play. $59.99 for the Standard Edition. The free open beta over July 24–26 is what makes people ask.

The Year 1 Pass

The Year 1 Character and Stage Pass adds four additional characters and one new stage after launch. The first is confirmed: Phoenix Cyclops (revealed at SDCC, July 23, 2026; arriving Fall 2026, voiced by Ray Chase). The other three characters remain unnamed.

Is Marvel Tōkon free to play?
No. It is a paid release — $59.99 for the Standard Edition on Steam. The July 24–26 open beta was free, which is where most of the confusion comes from.
