Will there be a PS4 version later?

Nothing has been announced, and a cross-generation release was not part of any platform announcement.

Does it work via PS5 backwards compatibility?

That works the other way around — PS5 plays PS4 games, not the reverse. A PS5 title cannot run on a PS4.

No. No — on PlayStation it's a PS5 title only. There is no PS4 version listed on the PlayStation Store.

There is no PS4 version. On PlayStation, Marvel Tōkon is a PS5 title, and the PlayStation Store lists it that way.

The open beta was PS5 and PC only, which is consistent with a current-generation-only release.

If you are on PS4 and want to play at launch, PC is the alternative — the minimum specification is modest by 2026 standards.
