How Marvel Tōkon actually plays
Six things in order. If you have played a tag fighter before, steps 2 and 3 are the ones that differ; if you have not, start at the top. Everything here comes from official beta guidance rather than from watching trailers.

Pick four fighters, not one
4v4 tag team fighting: you pick a team of four, fight with a point character, and call the other three as assists or switch into them.

Learn the Assemble button before anything else
Pressing the Assemble button calls a teammate in for an Assemble Assist attack. Assists come in distinct types — shooter, vertical, and assault — which can be called from neutral without spending Assemble gauge and can be woven into combos.

Choose who tags in with a direction
Hold a direction with the tag button to choose WHO comes in: neutral/forward = 2nd teammate, down = 3rd, back = 4th. After an assist you briefly get a 'Switch?' prompt — pressing tag during that window swaps you into that character.

You have two defensive team tools
Assemble Counter (□+× while NOT guarding): your character performs a defensive backstep, and if the opponent attacks during it, you automatically launch a counterattack. Crossover (□+× WHILE guarding): calls a teammate in to interrupt the opponent's attack and create an opening for a counteroffensive.

Extend combos with Assemble Rush
Assemble Rush: a team-extension tool that slots into combo routes — official guidance shows the route Light → Medium → Heavy → Skill → Assemble Rush → follow-up attack.
