Quick Skill or command inputs — which should you use?

One button or the full motion. The important detail: the motion is rewarded, not required, so this is not a beginner mode versus a real mode.

Two execution methods

There are two ways to perform the same skill: traditional command inputs, or the Quick Skill option that fires a skill with a single button press.

Performing the full input gives the added benefit of more damage on the move.

Why the design matters

Many fighting games with simplified controls create two populations who cannot really play the same game — a simple scheme locks out moves or caps damage so hard that it becomes a separate mode.

Here the same moves are available either way, and the motion is a damage bonus. A Quick Skill player and a command-input player are playing one game, and the gap between them is a percentage rather than a wall.

Which to learn

If you are new, start on Quick Skill and add motions per move as you get comfortable — nothing is locked behind them.

If you come from other fighting games, use command inputs from the start; the damage difference is the whole reason the option exists.

Common questions

Is Quick Skill worse than command inputs?
It does less damage on the same move. It does not lock any move away, so it is a damage trade rather than a restricted mode.
Can I mix the two?
Nothing in the official description suggests you must commit to one; the input method is per-move execution.
Does Marvel Tōkon have modern controls like SF6?
It has a comparable idea — a single-button skill option — but the trade here is described as damage rather than a reduced moveset.
