Open beta: not playableAugust 6, 2026

Summary

The strongest one there is — the Avengers' heavy hitter.

Hulk sat out the open beta, so the tier lists that went around in July never actually had him in them. With the launch build out, his shape is finally clear: he is the Fighting Avengers' heavy — slow on his feet but with enormous reach and damage, built to walk opponents down and pin them in the corner.

What lifts him above a plain big-body is the Gamma Rage gauge. He builds Gamma Level by absorbing hits during Gamma Spark and his skills, and at maximum he unleashes Gamma Rage — a speed-and-damage boost that turns his normals armored and, in spots, unblockable. We are not reprinting a full input-by-input command list with gauge costs from unverified captures, but the mechanic itself comes straight from the official character guide.

Move list

The full input-by-input command list for Hulk — every move with its skill-gauge cost — is not up here yet. The official character guide did reveal how Hulk plays, and that breakdown, with the signature moves named, is in the How to play Hulk section below. This table stays empty until a verified command list is published, rather than carry inputs and costs invented from footage.

Startup, active, recovery and on-block values need the retail build to measure and land here after August 6, 2026. Invented frame data is worse than none.

How to play Hulk

Hulk is the cast's classic heavy-hitter: his movement is slow, but his buttons have huge reach and damage and he thrives up close. The plan is to walk you down, win the exchange on sheer size, and back you into the corner where his pressure only gets worse.

His engine is the Gamma Rage gauge. Absorb attacks during Gamma Spark or while using skills to build Gamma Level, then cash it in at maximum for Gamma Rage — his speed and damage jump, his normals gain armor and even unblockable properties, and during Rage his chargeable Command Normal becomes unblockable outright. He is not helpless at range either: Giant Stomp and Thunder Clap reach across the screen, and Thunder Clap's shockwave can swat an incoming attack.

His Super Skill, Rampage, opens as a plain punch and becomes a grab-and-slam when it lands — a nod to the 2012 Avengers beatdown. Because so many of his tools can take on armor, he is a feared assist too: opponents have to respect your point character while Hulk is on call. Official guides also rate him one of the easiest fighters to pick up. He was not in the open beta, so there is no pick-rate history for him — everything here is drawn from the launch character guide.

Kit-level gameplan from Hulk’s documented moves and the open-beta usage split — not frame data. Specific frame advantages and matchup reads land once the retail build is tested.

Official character guide

Arc System Works has not published a character guide for Hulkyet. We link the official one when it exists rather than substituting someone else’s footage.

Hulk is voiced by Fred Tatasciore — officially credited (source).

Combos

Combo routes for Hulk live at ComboForge, where players have been submitting and voting on them for a year. That is a better source than anything we would assemble here.
