Summary
The X-Men's weather goddess controls the skies — and the screen.
Storm's official kit description is space control: wind currents that shove opponents around and lightning that punishes them for standing still. Players who tried her in the beta spent most of their time deciding where the fight happens rather than chasing it.
Ororo Munroe brings more seniority than almost anyone here. Omega-level mutant, longtime X-Men leader, one-time queen of Wakanda; the anime art direction plays all of it straight, regal and unhurried.
Move properties and real numbers arrive on this page once the launch build can be tested.

Inputs use numpad notation for a character facing right: 2 is down, 6 is forward, so 236 is a quarter-circle forward and 623 a “dragon punch” motion; L/M/H are the three attack strengths and U is the Unique button. The game also has simplified one-button skills — the controls guide covers both.
Startup, active, recovery and on-block values need the retail build to measure and land here after August 6, 2026. Invented frame data is worse than none.
How to play Storm
Storm is space control built on the Tempest Gauge — a screen-wide wind she can trigger mid-action that shoves both fighters and, crucially, repositions her own projectiles. So her zoning is never static: Tornado, Hailstone and Cold Embrace all get moved or re-triggered by a Tempest, letting her rearrange the screen on the fly.
She fills that screen with lingering threats — Tornado leaves a whirlwind, Hailstone a re-hitting icicle, and Lightning Strike is a fast bolt that's hard to punish on block. Whirlwind rises into Free Flight when she needs to leave, so she controls where the fight happens as much as what she throws.
There's no install; her engine is Tempest itself, which auto-refills and refills faster when Cold Embrace connects. Spend it to keep the opponent boxed in, and cap with Eye of the Storm — a huge frontal lightning attack that speeds Tempest recovery afterward.
In the open beta she was picked 79 times, split 20 on point and 59 as an assist. That's a zoner's split — fielded as backup roughly three times as often as the fighter she led with — which fits a character whose value is controlling neutral rather than opening people up on point.
Kit-level gameplan from Storm’s documented moves and the open-beta usage split — not frame data. Specific frame advantages and matchup reads land once the retail build is tested.
On the Vibranium and above leaderboard, Storm was picked 79 times across 1,600 character slots — 9th most-picked of the 16 playable.
Players overwhelmingly used Storm as an assist — 75% of picks — rather than as the fighter they started the match with. Compare every fighter’s beta pick rate.
By raw picks, Storm landed just ahead of Wolverine and just behind Ghost Rider.
Popularity is not strength — this counts what people chose over one three-day weekend on a pre-launch build, not what wins.

Mara Junot is widely reported as Storm’s English voice, but has not been officially credited by Arc System Works or PlayStation. We keep reported and credited as separate facts and label which is which.

Combo routes for Storm live at ComboForge, where players have been submitting and voting on them for a year. That is a better source than anything we would assemble here.
